IMPORTANT UPDATE: Like many of our readers, members, and partners, APC has just officially learned that RightsCon 2026 will not proceed in Zambia or online. On 29 April the event organiser, Access Now, announced with heavy hearts that the awaited summit will not take place. While we await further information, the schedule below has been postponed indefinitely.
From 5 to 8 May, the APC network will be actively participating at RightsCon 2026, an important event hosted by Access Now that brings together diverse stakeholders around human rights in the digital age. This edition of RightsCon is being convened in Lusaka, Zambia, and offers multiple session formats in both online and in-person formats.
The APC network will be using this opportunity to contribute to thematic discussions related to issues such as technology facilitated gender-based violence (TFGBV), disinformation, digital threats and repression, and internet governance in the context of conflict and crises through a social justice and rights-based, intersectional perspective. We also see it as a critical moment to advocate for increased and sustained donor support in the face of growing challenges, and renewed commitment from donors towards digital rights and social, environmental and gender justice. It is also a vital space to reconnect with staff, members and partners across the network and continue to build on our work.
